Quick weekend getaway in Sto. Tomas

We accidentally stumbled on this property in Batangas since our original booking on a different resort (booked via a 3rd party app) was cancelled and we just learned about it when we arrived at the property.

We had two choices, either go back to Manila or find another place. Since my mind was already programmed to be on a holiday, I quickly searched for an alternative. I remember seeing their Ad in Facebook (or maybe in Instagram) and quickly called their number. Luckily, they had availability that day so off we go.

Our discovery is Gunita Villas and Pavillion. Tucked in Sto. Tomas Batangas, an hour's drive away from Manila, this sprawling property boasts of lush greenery, spacious and well-appointed rooms, and Lihim Cafe (on-site restaurant in the property) for delicious food. The property is an events space and is popular garden wedding venue.

Our room was a Villa Suite Junior located at the ground floor which vies us a nice view of the property and just a few steps away from the swimming pool.

The room was very spacious and comes with a day bed and has a separate shower and bathtub.

Standard room amenities were also available, Wi-Fi, flat screen TV as well as a room refrigerator.

Breakfast is included with the room rate and you can pre-order this at Lihim cafe.

This is the perfect place to chill and just be lazy. After settling in, we just sat outside our room (we had outdoor furniture facing the pool), reading a book, listening to music and just enjoying the view of lush greenery.

For dinner, we headed to Lihim cafe. It was full but I think we had priority since we were staying at the property, so we were able to get a table fairly quickly.

After dinner, we walked around the property for some cool breeze and fresh air. It was a quiet evening and there was nothing much to do so we headed back to the room and just watched TV.

Next morning, after breakfast, time to relax, swim at the pool and wait for check-out time.

After check-out and before heading back to Manila, we couldn't miss getting coffee and pastry at Lihim cafe. We needed the extra boost of energy for the drive back to the city.

Everything happens for a reason. If our original plan wasn't cancelled, then we wouldn't be able to experience this beautiful resort in Batangas. Glad to have stayed even for just a night and definitely a place worth coming back to!
