Swalloween Night Pool Party

To celebrate Halloween, Azumi Boutique hotel is throwing an epic pool party for southies (like me!).

The event is called Swalloween (yes, the event name is Swalloween) because based on the event photos, they’ll have swan floaters at the pool. Well I hope they had a long discussion before deciding on the name because when I was telling friends about it, they thought something different. LOL

When they announced the party they offered an early bird promo that bundles the party with an overnight stay. I just stayed here last July but I figured that I needed another staycation by October anyway and I would like to attend the pool party so I availed the promo.

Even if you’re not checked in, you can still access the party by buying the tickets at the event venue itself.
I checked in, settled in my room at the 16th floor which had a nice view and had a quick nap since I’ll be staying up all night.

After a quick beauty rest, ofcourse I needed to get ready. I planned my outfit already, and since it’s a pool party, I had swim shorts (because I wanna take a dip in the pool) and just a simple tank.

And here’s a flat lay of my outfit.

Registration starts at 5PM and the event starts at 6PM. When we were heading up, we could already here the music which pumped us up for the party.

One of the things we were thinking since Azumi’s pool isn’t that large, how can they fit huge floaters there? Well, they were able to fit in around 5 floaters tied to the poles (it’s an infinity pool, you might float to the edge and that would be tragic right?).Free booze, free food and upbeat music, these elements make a good party. One nice touch was the photo booth which I enjoyed thoroughly.

The drinks were sponsored by The Bar Gin and  Zabana Rum and I have to say, the mixed drinks were goooodddddd….

The music was a good mix of 90’s classic (music I grew up with), some new tracks and even the good ol’ 80’s and 70’s classics.

I wouldn’t let the night go by without a dip in the pool, so ofcourse I had to be in the floaters while partying the night away.

The free snacks and drinks were only up until 8:30PM but you can still drink and purchase alcohol after that time. Even though the event ended already at around 10PM, there were still a lot of us by the pool, finishing our drinks, chatting with friends and just having a nice cool dip while enjoying the night view from above.

Sleepy and ready to hit the sack, surprise surprise. When we got to our room, freebies greeted us from the event partners and sponsors. I love free stuff!!! We had from Pik Nik (and they were ketchup flavor which was my favorite), Bits ‘n Chips, Sparkling Water from Summit, Gift Vouchers from iSkin, Senso memory Foam neck pillows from Uratex and Honda branded umbrellas.

The positives of the party for me were:

1. The drinks, I mean they were really good. Yes they had an issue where we ran out of ice, but then again, kudos since we only had one bar tender during that time and he was patient enough to prepare the drinks of everyone there.

2. The photo booth was a nice treat, I mean for selfie obsessed people (like me), this was a definite thumbs up.

3. The music was good, a nice mix of different genre’s and was upbeat for people to enjoy.

Learning opportunities of the party (oh boy). But this can be taken as constructive criticism for next year, right?

1. Name: Really, Swalloween? I know you wanted the Swans as the main focal point of the party because of the floaters, but seriously? (People may think differently)

2. The drinks were cool, but the snacks were a letdown. If you’re charging I think it was Php800 for a ticket, you wouldn’t expect Taquitos, Cheese Ring and Mang Juan as your snacks right (I mean at this price, it’s already a buffet)? I mean c’mon, atleast go a little higher with potato chips or even mini sandwiches or nachos can be an option. But the snacks options were hilarious and I think people paying that money for a ticket would just compensate with the drinks (which were sponsored anyway right).

3. Honestly, I hate to say this but the party was kind of a snooze (even my friends agreed). I know there were staff trying to rally the crowd but really, everyone was just sitting and talking and maybe the most dancing that happened was bobbing of heads (again, the music I liked). But the energy was not there. Had they made it a sunset party like starting in the afternoon up until sunset, it would have been a better vibe (since it is a pool party anyway) and maybe turn it to a foam party after (good idea, right?).

All in all, I still had a good time especially since I had friends there with me. It was a nice catch-up and get together and swimming party at the same time. Plus I’ve always liked staying at Azumi anyway so it was still a treat.

Wonder what happened the next day? Well after having breakfast (and we had taho which was a nice treat), we spent the rest of our stay pool side, just enjoying the sunny day.

Again thank you to Azumi for giving us late check-out (like last time) so we can enjoy the pool a little longer.

Now waiting for the next event to happen, hope you read my comments Azumi.
