I'm liking that the food scene here in Alabang is picking-up. Gone are the days where you need to go to Makati or QC for hip new food concepts and restaurants. Now Alabang peeps like me can enjoy the same things that our Makati, Pasig or QC counterparts enjoy.

Cue in L'Epicerie Gourmand. Well if you can't pronounce it right (like me) it must be something interesting, right? Well this a new French restaurant that brngs the restaurant scene of Alabang up a notch. Its located right at Riverpark where you have the view of the river and the open gardens of Filinvest and Festival Mall.
The space is 2 in 1, you have a small grocery for French items, which includes a wide array of French wines, and ofcourse, you also have a restaurant to that what else, serves French food. :)

Well being surrounded by all these wines, it just makes sense that you
can shop for the wine that you want to go with your food (there is a
corkage fee though but atleast you drink what you want). You do have the
option to just get the wine from the menu too.

We had the sausage platter for our appetizer to go with our selected rose wine. After a few minutes our main entrees arrived, pasta!

The three of us got different pasta dishes so we can sample everything. JK had the Lasagnes Maison (home made beef lasagna), Julian had the Bolognaise (pasta in tomato and beef sauce), and I had the Daube Provencale (pasta in red wine beef stew sauce). I was told that what I got was one of their best sellers.

The prices are reasonable and the portions are more than enough to get you full. Staff are also polite and helpful to give you advise on their wine selections.

Overall, definitely a place where I'll keep coming back. The ambience is on point with the view of the river and the garden, wide array of French wines and good food, now that's a good combo for a night out.
