This is my 2nd time to visit Davao although my 1st time was just
isolated in Samal island, I was excited because now I get to see the
places of interest that the city has to offer. Plus, free accommodations
and tours, I was already packing my bags!

The majestic Philippine Eagle |
Before anything else, a big shout-out to our host, Apo View
Hotel, which is probably one of the best places to stay in the city. Its affordable, its has a pool and its conveniently located at the city center. What more could you ask for? For more information, visit their website at www.apoview.com.

Probably the fruit that is synonymous with the city greeting everyone at the hotel |

A hearty buffet lunch to welcome us |
Here's our daily itinerary in Davao:
Day
1:
Museo Dabaw - museum dedicated to Davao (ofcourse) that highlight its history. Free entrance but no pictures inside (sorry selfie
whores).
D’ Bone Collector Museum - if bones are your thing (like an
aspiring archeologist or just because you're creepy like that) then this one is for you. Highlights for me were the shark
teeth and the whale skeleton.
|
D' Bone Collector Museum |
Davao’s 911 Center - because who wouldn’t
want to see fire trucks and ambulances during their vacation.
President Duterte’s House in
Davao - and taking a selfie with his cardboard image (because that’s
perfectly normal).
Day 2:
Philippine Eagler Center - every visit helps support
these majestic birds and contributes to their preservation. Plus,
you’ll get to have selfies with birds which is probably the coolest thing that I've done so far here.
|
Selfie with an eagle |
Malagos Garden Resort - lush
gardens for those OOTD or IG posts.
|
Just basking in the noontime sun at Malagos Garden Resort |
|
|
|
Eden Park Resort - just like Malagos (only much, much bigger), you'll be surrounded by lush gardens and tress. The ticket includes a tour which will bring you to different areas and a snack (because you'll be tired taking a lot of pictures). Also, its a place where you can have more IG and OOTD
posts (especially of you walking around pretending no one is taking a photo of you).
|
So I won't get lost |
|
I love Eden |
|
Under the rainbow |
|
Fresh fruits |
Jack’s Ridge - if you want a nice view of Davao with your dinner, this is the place. Its a collection of different food establishments so they have you covered what ever you are craving for.
|
One of Davao's Hangout spots |
Day 3: Samal Island - a must visit!
|
Riding a barge to Samal Island |
Monfort Bat
Sanctuary - Guiness World record holder for the most number of Rousette
fruit bats. Be warned. What I liked was that there's an overview prior to seeing the bats which educates the people. Be warned of the smell though.
Hagimit Falls - there's quite a hike (an understatement) be prepared to hike down ( to reach the falls) and back up (to get back to your car), cardio
anyone? There are cottages for rent, s store just in case you forgot something and a grilling area for public use so you can cook your food.
|
People enjoying the cool water of Hagimit falls |
|
Cooling off at Hagimit falls |
Paradise Island Beach Resort - a place to eat and swim and (be
with a lot of people). The place gets crowded (we were there on a Saturday) but its all good. You can even eat close t the water (since there are tables right there at the shore).
|
Perfect day to be at the beach |
CafĂ© Tavera - seriously, probably one of Davao’s
best restaurants (in my humble opinion). Nice ambience (classy) and you get to choose your seafood and tell the cook how you want it. Just make sure to bring anti-histamine if you're allergic.
|
Fresh Seafood at Cafe Tavera |
|
Seafood dinner |
|
Seaweeds or locally known as Lato |
Day4: It was a very busy 3 days and we were going to one destination to another. For our last day, just relax poolside and go to church and give thanks for blessing us with this wonderful trip.
